Tortoise Shell Pique Necklace & Earrings |

collection comes this beautiful tortoise shell pique necklace
and earring set with wonderful inlaid mother of pearl. The
mother of pearl has an Oriental design of a dragon on the
pendant and on both parts of the earrings, along with an Oriental
symbol. The necklace measures 14" and is comprised of
rectangular links. The pendant is round and measures an
additional 2". The earrings are for pierced ears and have
a back on them. They measure 2" from top to bottom and
1-1/4" across. Tortoise shell is one of nature's natural
plastics. Pique' is produced by pressing a heated rod of
precious material into the shell and melting it slightly. When
the shell cools it hardens around the material. This wonderful
antique set is in beautiful condition. Note: Our inventory of tortoise shell jewelry is either antique or vintage and was imported prior to the 1960s. Due to U.S. law prohibiting the international sale of tortoise shell, we cannot ship these items outside the U.S. |
