| Back | This is a wonderful antique cameo ring done in 3 layer in 1 stone. The carving is of a man in a helmet, most likely a Roman Soldier. The ring is 14k white gold and measures a size 9-1/2. There is lovely scroll work done on the shoulders of the ring and both ends. The cameo is done in three layers - chocolate, white, reddish brown - and it appears that the stone is a deep sardonyx. The top of the ring measures 1/2 inch in width and 3/4 inch in length. White gold was invented at the close of WWI, and this ring was most likely on the cutting edge of fashion (meaning that it will be classed as "antique" in a few years). This piece would look great on a man or a woman. |
