| This is a graceful sash pin that is hand-incised with a lovely Art Nouveau naturalist motif. The term Art Nouveau, which means "new art," possessed an exotic, and sometimes erotic, influence - resulting in shapes representing free-flowing hair, sensuous nude bodies, flowers and insects in asymmetrical form. The pin measures 2-1/2 inches in width and 2 inches in length. It has the old "C" clasp pin. Art Nouveau began around 1895 and lasted until about 1914.
