Europe soon became a center for the thriving costume jewelry business. Machine cutting made it possible to produce large stones of quality. Gilt metal is the foundation for this majestic necklace of sapphire blue stones. Photographs cannot do justice to the impact of this stunning necklace. It is 16" in length; all stones are open-back and appear to be original. The pendant part measures 6" in width and 2-1/2" in length. This piece sold at an estate sale and originated from Europe.
